Phillip “Vince” Vincent, was born on January 17, in Massachusetts to Manuel and Ethel Vincent. Vince was the youngest of 10 siblings, with 7 brothers and 2 sisters – the oldest sibling was a sister who was 17 years older than him. Vince loved to play baseball as a child, and says his favorite, funny memory from growing up was when he stole his brother’s car before he had a license. He says he drove it for a few miles and then turned around and went back home before he got into too much trouble. Vince married an Oklahoma native and moved here shortly after. He has lived in Oklahoma for the past 40 years. Vince has 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. He also has 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Vince worked as a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force for 20 years, starting right out of high school. He then sold insurance in the Oklahoma and Arkansas area for another 30 years. Vince is a firm believer in the importance of hard work. In his lifetime, Vince has had his share of interesting travels, including California, The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and even traveling as far as the country of Turkey. Vince’s favorite hobbies are playing cards and playing Bingo. Even though Vince has been in the Midwest for a few decades, you can always point him out in a crowd with that Boston accent! Vince says his favorite food from Massachusetts is scallops. Vince grew up in the Methodist faith, and shared that his favorite bible verse is Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever.”
