Alma “June” Sharp was born in Osceola, Arkansas to proud parents Vera and James Shufflebarger and had a sister, Mary Ann. June’s grandmother immigrated to the United States from Ireland and her grandfather from Germany. June’s father worked in construction which allowed June to experience living in many different states. June and her family returned to Arkansas where she graduated from high school and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
June met her husband Donald Sharp, who happened to be a big, handsome, ex-Marine, and the two shared 67 years of marriage before his passing. They were also blessed with a son and a daughter. They loved to watch sports and travel. June still enjoys watching sports and likes a good competition!
June’s career included working for DHS as a social worker in nursing homes. June describes this work as very industrious and she enjoyed it very much.
June has a dry sense of humor and enjoys the outdoors and good conversation. Be sure to give a hello to June when you see her!
